Turf-Vivor IV, the 2005 edition of Gulfstream's handicapping contest, begins Friday and concludes Sunday.

The Turf-Vivor winner will receive a grand prize of $100,000, with the second-place finisher earning $10,000 and the third-place contestant receiving $5,000.

The top three players at the conclusion of Sunday's head-to-head final round will also receive an automatic berth to the 2006 NTRA Handicapping Championship Tournament.

Tom Quigley, 44, of Beverly Hills, Calif., the owner and publisher of HorsePlayer magazine, will return to defend his 2004 championship. Past winners Kelly Phillips (2003), from Memphis, Tenn., and Jim Mineo (2002), from Plantation, Fla., will also be on hand for Turf-Vivor IV.
