Peruvian Morales Wins First in North America

Pablo Morales, a 16-year-old native of Peru, recorded his first North American winner in Wednesday's first race at Gulfstream Park.

Morales was aboard the favored Alena's Boy, who paid $6 after scoring by 3ΒΌ lengths over Stormin Morn.

Morales had a 3-2-2 record from seven mounts in Peru before coming to this country, according to records. Morales, whose father and brother are riders in Peru, lives in Miami with his sister.

Alena's Boy, who was Morales' sixth mount at Gulfstream this meeting, is owned by Robert Robinson and is trained by Ambrose Pascucci.
