Apprentice jockey Denis Rojas won for the first time in North America with his gate-to-wire ride aboard Sans Win in Saturday's second race at Gulfstream Park.

The 21-year-old Panamanian came to the United States last year after beginning his career in his native country. He needed 31 attempts to land his first winner.

Sans Win won for the sixth time in 14 starts by taking the $10,000 claiming race. He paid $12.40.
