The Kentucky Equine Education Project, which has said it strongly supports provisions in Gov. Ernie Fletcher's tax modernization plan that would in part create breed development programs, will have representatives at a Feb. 10 hearing before the House Appropriations and Revenue Committee.
KEEP board member Ken Jackson of Kentuckiana Farm, a Standardbred breeding operation; Scott County team leader Catherine Parke, who operates Valkyre Stud, a Thoroughbred farm; and Howard Rea, the Oldham County KEEP team leader and a Hall of Fame American Quarter Horse Association member, will address lawmakers.
KEEP has urged members and supporters to attend the meeting in a show of support. The meeting will be held in Room 131 of the Capitol Annex in Frankfort. It begins at 3:30 p.m. EST.
