Central Bank will sponsor Keeneland's Transylvania Stakes (gr. IIIT). Because of Central Bank's sponsorship, Keeneland is increasing the purse for the race to $150,000-guaranteed. Previously, it was run for $100,000-added.
The Central Bank Transylvania for 3-year-olds, which will be run opening day, April 8, is contested over a mile on the turf.
"We see this sponsorship with Keeneland as a wonderful opportunity for two local companies to work together," said Central Bank chairman, president, and CEO Luther Deaton Jr. "Keeneland has a rich tradition that we are proud to be joining," he added.
Keeneland's spring meeting runs April 8 through April 29.
"Partnerships with companies like Central Bank help make Keeneland's racing program competitive and attractive to horsemen from all over the world," said Keeneland's director of racing Rogers Beasley.
