Hook and Ladder's first reported foal is a colt born Jan. 18 at Lewis and Brenda Lakin and Becky Thomas' Lakland North near Hudson, N.Y. Bred by Lakin/Thomas, the colt is out of the Cox's Ridge mare Devon Ridge and is inbred 3x2 to that stallion.

A grade II winner, Hook and Ladder (Dixieland Band--Taianna, by Cox's Ridge) stands at Lakland North. His 2005 fee is $3,500.
