Southern California trainer and radio personality Roger Stein is recuperating from surgery to remove part of his left foot performed Jan. 30 at a Woodland Hills hospital.

"I had an infection that got to the bone and they had to amputate part of my left foot," Stein said. "I hope to be back within two weeks but I may need a cane for balance."

Stein's weekend radio program-"The Roger Stein Show"-has been off the air since early this year, but the 51-year-old trainer said he could resume broadcasting in the future.

"Right now there's nothing going on," he said, "but that could change. I've had several offers."
