Ken and Sarah Ramsey's Roses in May, early favorite for Saturday's $500,000 Donn Handicap, posted a five-furlong breeze in 1:02 4/5 for trainer Dale Romans Saturday at Palm Meadows training center.
"He worked good and we're ready to go," said Romans after the move. "We got what we wanted. Angel Cordero Jr. was aboard."
Roses in May, second best to Ghostzapper in the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) last fall, will be making his first start since then.
Previously, the 5-year-old son of
Devil His Due had put together a five-race win streak that included tallies in Saratoga's Whitney Handicap (gr. I) and Turfway's Kentucky Cup Classic Handicap (gr. II).
