Turfway, Penn National, Charles Town Cancel Thursday Cards

With a forecast for below-freezing temperatures and a wind chill factor in the single digits, Turfway Park has canceled its live racing program for the evening of Jan. 27.

The Northern Kentucky race track canceled its Jan. 26 program after two races because of racing surface conditions caused by a thaw-freeze cycle.

Live racing is scheduled to resume Jan. 28 with a first post of 5:30 p.m. An 11-race program is scheduled. As usual, the facility remained open for full-card simulcasting Thursday.

In addition to Turfway Park and Aqueduct, other tracks that canceled racing Thursday were Penn National and Charles Town.
