Northern Quest, Sharan to Dormello Stud in Texas

Stakes winners Northern Quest and Sharan will stand in 2005 at Brian Wallis' Dormello Stud near Decatur, Texas.

Sharan, a 10-year-old son of Shirley Heights out of the Habitat mare Honeybeta, was a stakes winner in Germany and twice graded stakes-placed in the U.S., including the Shoemaker Breeders' Cup Mile Stakes (gr. IT). He retired with three wins from a dozen races and earnings of $168,111.

Sharan, who formerly stood at Lovacres Ranch in California, will stand for $2,500 live foal. His first foals are 2-year-olds.

Northern Quest, a 10-year-old son of Rainbow Quest, won the Del Mar (gr. IIT), Golden Gate Breeders' Cup (gr. IIIT), and Arlington (gr. IIIT) Handicaps and placed in six stakes, five of which were graded. He retired with seven wins from 25 starts and earnings $664,003.

Northern Quest's dam, Northern Goddess (by Night Shift), was a champion sprinter in England and Ireland. Northern Quest will stand for $1,500 live foal.
