Champion Aldebaran's First Foal

Darby Dan Farm announced the birth of the first foal by champion sprinter Aldebaran. The newborn filly arrived Jan. 18 and is out of stakes winner Ellie's Moment, a half-sister to Darby Dan millionaire and current prominent Japanese stallion Brian's Time.

"It is especially gratifying that his first foal is out of a prominent family that has been at Darby Dan Farm for nearly 50 years," said John Phillips of Darby Dan.

Ellie's Moment, by Kris S., will be bred to Storm Cat.

Aldebaran (Mr. Prospector--Chimes of Freedom, by Private Account) stands at Darby Dan near Lexington. His 2005 fee is $40,000.
