Portland Meadows Cuts 2005 Stakes Purses

Portland Meadows has announced cuts in the 2005 stakes schedule totaling $51,500.
The Portland Mile on April 9 took the biggest hit at the Magna Entertainment Corp. track, dropping its purse from $40,000 to $20,000. The Oregon Derby April 2 was reduced $5,000 to $15,000. All $10,000 stakes were cut to $7,500.
The cuts were made in conjunction with the Oregon HBPA, according to a track spokesman.
