Lane's End stallion secretary Brenda Linville died Jan. 5 at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital. Linville had been battling pancreatic cancer. She was 41.
Linville had worked at Lane's End for the past five years, and continued to come into work despite undergoing treatments. She had been active in the Thoroughbred industry for more than 20 years, working with The Jockey Club for 13 years prior to going to Lane's End where she worked in the stallion division selling seasons and shares and acting as a liaison to stallion syndicate members.
In October, co-worker Jill McCully completed the 26.2-mile Chicago Marathon while raising money for the Brenda Linville Cancer Fund. McCully raised more than $50,000. Linville attended the marathon with McCully.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504 or to Golf Fore the Cure, Georgetown, KY 40324.
