(from Santa Anita notes)Bad weather in Southern California will keep Fusaichi Samurai, the much-publicized $4.5 million colt who broke his maiden in his only start thus far, out of Sunday's San Miguel Stakes for 3-year-olds.
"It's a moot point, because Fusaichi Samurai will not run," trainer Neil Drysdale said in response to a question about how the son of
Fusaichi Pegasus has been able to train during heavy recent rain. More rain is in the forecast for next week.
"We'll just have to see how the weather plays out," Drysdale said when asked about the colt's next probable race.
Bushwacker is expected to be a starter in the 6-furlong San Miguel under Rene Douglas.
