Despite the efforts of the track crew, weather continued to cause problems at Thistledown, forcing the cancellation of the remainder of its racing card following the third race Thursday.

"In the interest of everyone's safety, a mutual decision was made between management and jockeys to cancel live racing after completing three races," commented Thistledown's Director of Racing, Bill Couch. "We will continue to work through the night to work on the racing surface."

To show our appreciation to our customers, Thistledown will offer free live programs along with the traditional free parking and free admission for Dec. 31, the final live racing day of the 2004 season. First race post on Friday is noon and there will be 11 races.
