HorseRacing TV (HRTV) announced Dec. 29 that it will kickoff its exclusive coverage of the Gulfstream Park's winter meeting on opening day, Monday, Jan. 3. The 86-day meeting will begin with a first post time of 12:45 p.m. EDT on that day and continues through Sunday, April 24.Opening weekend at the Hallandale, Fla. facility will include five stakes races, including a pair of $100,000 Grade 3 events on January 8: the Mr. Prospector Stakes at six furlongs; and the Hal's Hope Handicap run at 1 1/8 miles.Throughout the month of January, racing at Gulfstream will be conducted on both four- and five-day weeks. In February and March, the track will offer six-day race weeks (Tuesdays dark), and will revert to five-day race weeks in April (Mondays and Tuesdays dark)."The Gulfstream Park race meeting is one that racing fans look forward to each year, and we're delighted to bring exclusive racing action to our viewers," said HRTV executive producer Amy J. "Combined with our exclusive coverage of Santa Anita's current 85-day meeting, HRTV viewers and XpressBet customers will be offered the best of racing action this winter."Among the stakes headlining HRTV's coverage is the Fountain of Youth (gr. II) card set for March 5 which includes the $300,000 Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. II) and three $150,000 grade II tests: the Swale Stakes; the Stonerside Forward Gal Stakes and the Bonnie Miss Stakes. On March 6, HRTV viewers can watch the $250,000 Gulfstream Park Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. I).
