Victoria's leading Thoroughbred nursery, Blue Gum Farm of Euroa, has announced the acquisition of a 50% stake in multi-millionaire galloper Elvstroem, the multiple group I winning son of Danehill and the group I winning Marscay mare Circles Of Gold.

"To retain a horse of Elvstroem's quality in Victoria is a major coup for the state's Thoroughbred breeding industry and I am ecstatic that we have been able to negotiate a deal with his current owners", said Blue Gum Farm's chief, Philip Campbell,

"When you consider that Danehill is now deceased, Elvstroem will be one of the last, if not the last, multiple group I winning sons of the champion sire to be syndicated in Australia," he added.

Frank Tagg, Elvstroem's original syndicate manager, said, "Blue Gum's record in the past with horses like Noalcoholic, Rancho Ruler, Umatilla, Rubiton, and of course Encosta de Lago speaks for itself."

The horse will race next autumn in Australia with a view to competing internationally also before retiring. Elvstroem has won seven races and $3,548,600.
