Stakes winner Tizbud, a full brother to Horse of the Year
Tiznow , has been retired from racing because of a recurring shin injury. The 5-year-old son of Cee's Tizzy made only eight starts in his career, winning two of them and earning $230,266 for Cees Stable.
Trained by John Sadler, Tizbud scored his biggest win in the California Cup Classic Handicap in November of 2003, then was off for 11 months because of a shin problem. He returned to finish unplaced in the Cal Cup Classic and Native Diver Handicap (gr. III) this fall.
Tizbud, who ran third in the 2003 San Fernando Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. II), is one of four stakes winners from his dam, Cee's Song (by Seattle Song). In addition to Tiznow, he also is a full brother to grade II winners Budroyale and Tizdubai.
Michael Cooper of Cees Stables has not announced breeding plans for Tizbud.
