Second of June, who has not raced since finishing a game second to Read the Footnotes in the Feb. 14 Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. II), has been entered in a 1 1/16-miles optional claiming event at Calder on Monday.

The dark bay colt by Louis Quatorze defeated Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) winner Silver Wagon in the What a Pleasure Stakes at the same track and distance a year ago. He returned as a 3-year-old to take the Holy Bull (gr. III) at Gulfstream Jan. 17.

He followed that with his narrow defeat in the Fountain of Youth when he fractured cannon bone.

Bill Cesare trains Second of June for his mother, Barbara. They are pointing the colt to the Sunshine Millions Classic Stakes on Jan. 29 at Gulfstream.

Cornelio Velasquez has the call on Second of June. The sixth race at Calder Monday has attracted a field of seven.
