After a five-day break for the Christmas holiday, racing at Golden Gate Fields will pick up with a Pick Six carryover of $233,306 and the $100,000 Work The Crowd Handicap.
There have been no perfect Pick Six tickets for five straight days, creating the large carryover.
The Work The Crowd is a one-mile turf contest for fillies and mares bred in California. A field of 10 is entered, with Tucked Away, a multiple stakes winner from the barn of Irishman Paddy Gallagher, the 5-2 morning line favorite.
Jockeys Roberto Gonzalez and Jose Rivera Jr. have received three-day riding suspensions that will be served starting Dec. 27. Both riders were cited by the Golden Gate Fields stewards for "failure to make a proper effort to maintain a straight course in the stretch and causing interference" in races run on Dec. 18.
