With a winter storm that was expected to include ice, snow, wind, and cold temperatures roaring through northern Kentucky, the Wednesday race card at Turfway Park was cancelled.

According to the National Weather Service, from two to four inches of snow were expected, with high temperatures in the lower 30s, and winds ranging from five to 10 miles per hour.

The Kentucky State Police had issued an advisory against travel, unless it was absolutely necessary.

Turfway Park remained open for simulcasting Wednesday and planned to resume racing Thursday.
