Canadian Champion Inish Glora Retired

Inish Glora, last year's Canadian champion grass mare and a finalist for this year's running, has been retired from racing and is booked to major sire Gone West.

Bred by Dr. C.G. Scott in Ontario, Canada, Inish Glora won nine of 32 starts and earned $977,618 for Robert Costigan of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, who bought her privately from the Windfields Farm Sales Agency. Trained first by Kathy Bremner at Hastings Park and later at Woodbine by Macdonald Benson, Inish Glora captured five stakes and placed in 10 others. Her stakes scores included triumphs in the 2003 Canadian Handicap (Can-IIT) and Victoriana Stakes on grass and this year's Victoriana and Nassau Stakes (Can-IIIT).

A daughter of Regal Classic, 6-year-old Inish Glora is out of the stakes-placed Assert mare Star Guest, whose second dam is a full sister to the great racehorse and sire Vaguely Noble. Inish Glora is boarded at Windfields Farm near Oshawa, Ontario.
