Florida invader Dynever, third in the 2003 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I), heads a field of eleven in Hollywood Park's $100,000 Native Diver Handicap (gr. III) at 1 1/8 miles Saturday.

The 4-year-old millionaire, who finished eighth in this year's Breeders' Cup Classic at Lone Star Park, will carry high weight of 119 pounds. Regular jockey Corey Nakatani will again be aboard in the Native Diver.

The race honors the only three-time winner of the Hollywood Gold Cup (gr. I). It will mark the third West Coast appearance by Dynever, a bay colt trained by Christophe Clement for Catherine Wills and Peter Karches. Aside from his third in the 2003 Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita, Dynever won Santa Anita's 2004 San Bernardino Handicap (gr. III) by 4 1/2 lengths over Total Impact. His overall record is 4-5-1 in 15 starts for earnings of $1,388,714.

Like Dynever, Supah Blitz, the second high-weight at 118 pounds, will be making his first start at Hollywood Park. The 4-year-old Florida-bred will be reunited with Victor Espinoza, who rode him to victory in the Del Mar Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) on Sept. 5, his first start for trainer Doug O'Neill.

Previously trained in the East by Emanuel Tortora, Supah Blitz subsequently finished third in the Goodwood Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) at Santa Anita for O'Neill before winning the $200,000 Carl G. Rose Classic Handicap at Florida's Calder Race Course in his last start on Nov. 13. His record of 6-12-5 in 32 starts has earned $968,610.

Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella, who has won the Native Diver a record seven times, will saddle Congrats, another Easterner making his local debut. Tyler Baze will ride the son of A. P. Indy, who was previously trained by Shug McGaughey. Congrats has captured six of 14 starts while banking $373,390.
