Stay Forever, who won the WinStar Galaxy Stakes (gr. IIT) at Keeneland in October, has been retired from racing and will become a broodmare for owner Jamie Rizo-Patron's Santa Cruz Ranch. The 7-year-old homebred daughter of Stack out of the Forever Sparkle mare Forever Lady was being considered for the Sunshine Millions at Gulfstream Park in January, but it was decided to retire her instead to the Ocala farm.

Stay Forever, who won a 2003 Sunshine Millions race, the Franks Farm Filly and Mare Turf Stakes, won a total of six stakes. She was sidelined 20 months because of a bowed tendon, but still managed to win 10 of 17 starts and earn $910,399. Her victory in the WinStar Galaxy in what was her last start was her second graded triumph.

Juan Rizo, who runs the farm for his father, said no decision has been reached as to a mate for Stay Forever.
