Inglis & Son Closes Out Australian Auction Year

Australia-based William Inglis & Son held its final auction of the year Friday, a mixed sale at Oaklands, where 140 horses sold for a gross of Aus$842,400 (approximately $652,633 in U.S. funds) and an average price of Aus$6,017 ($4,662).

Stakes winner Super Groove topped the auction's racehorse session, bringing a Aus$40,000 ($30,989) bid from Kevin Chisholm. The consignor was GSA Bloodstock.

Amelia Island, a Tate Gallery mare, and her suckling Distant Music colt brought the top price of Aus$30,000 ($23,242) during the sale's breeding stock portion for consignor Eliza Park. Newmarc Bloodstock was the buyer. Amelia Island is in foal to Desert Sun.
