Champion Northern Spur to True North Farm in Kentucky

Turf champion Northern Spur has joined dirt champion The Wicked North for stallion duty at True North Farm near Versailles, Ky. Northern Spur, whose big win came in the Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT), has sired three stakes winners, including graded winner Chausson Poire, and four stakes-placed runners. Another runner, My Real Quiet Lady, has topped the $500,000 mark in earnings. Overall, 13-year-old Northern Spur has progeny earnings of $3 million.
A son of Sadler's Wells out of the Rheingold mare Fruition, Northern Spur won or placed in 13 of 15 starts and earned $1.6 million. Formerly at Longfield Farm near Goshen, Ky., he will stand for $3,500 live foal.
Northern Spur and The Wicked North, who stood the 2004 season at True North, are owned by Coffee Pot Stables. Annette Bacola is the managing partner of True North.
