French invader Sunny Sky, third-place finisher in the Generous Stakes (gr. IIIT) for 2-year-olds on turf Saturday, will remain in California and test dirt for the first time in the Hollywood Futurity (gr. I) at 1 1/16 miles on Dec. 18, according to trainer Maurice Zilber.

"I think he will handle dirt and the distance," said the octogenarian trainer of Sunny sky. The son of Septieme Ciel won three of six starts in France before his unlucky third-place finish in the Generous. He drew post ten, was bumped at the start and closed resolutely to miss by less than a length.

Sunny Sky is owned by Woodside Farms and Marsha Naify and will be transferred to trainer Julio Canani after the Futurity. Laurent and Christina Zilber of Beverly Hills own Woodside Farms.

The Futurity lineup is expected to include unbeaten Hollywood Prevue Stakes (gr. III) winner Declan's Moon, Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) winner Wilko and Champagne Stakes (gr. I) winner Proud Accolade. The race could decide the Eclipse Award for 2-year-old champion.

Declan's Moon worked a bullet four furlongs in :46 4/5 seconds at Hollywood Park Tuesday for trainer Ron Ellis. Proud Accolade worked a bullet five furlongs in :58 4/5 with blinkers on under regular rider John Velazquez for trainer Todd Pletcher at Hollywood Monday. Wilko drilled six furlongs in 1:13 Monday for trainer Craig Dollase, who took over the English invader from trainer Jeremy Noseda after the Breeders' Cup for majority owner J. Paul Reddam.
