Airwave Tops Tattersalls Session as Numbers Decline

Airwave topped the first session of the Tattersalls December sale.
The 2002 Cheveley Park Stakes (Eng-I) heroine Airwave was bought for 550,000 guineas by Coolmore boss John Magnier at the Tattersalls December Sale in Newmarket Monday, England.

Adrian Nicoll of BBA Ireland purchased the Air Express filly for Magnier with one bid with Katsumi Yoshida of North Farm in Japan the underbidder.

Agent Anthony Stroud was still finalizing ownership plans for Alec Wildenstein's 4-year-old Amazon Beauty (Ire) (Wolfhound) after buying her for 280,000 guineas. The group III-placed daughter of Wolfhound will be bred in Ireland.

Denis and Joan Brosnan's Croom House Stud in Ireland, who trade as Epona Bloodstock, paid 190,000 guineas for 4-year-old All Embracing, offered in foal to Selkirk.

The day's 6.35 million guineas turnover fell by 26% from the same session in 2003, the 38,253 guineas average fell by 21% and the 20,000 guineas median dipped by 20%.
