Aqueduct's Thanksgiving Day card was canceled following the second race at approximately 12:25 p.m. Thursday because of the condition of the main track.
The day's feature race, the 91st running of the $100,00-added Fall Highweight Handicap (gr. III), will be opened to the original nominees, re-drawn on Friday and will be run on Sunday's 10-race card.
First race post time for Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be noon Eastern.
Thursday's card, which began with a special holiday first-race post of 11 a.m., opened with a sloppy track. Favored Taking the Redeye ($5.80) won the first and My Nina Rose ($15.80) won the second race to complete a $2 daily double worth $72.50.
Following the second race, post times were moved back to accommodate maintenance workers, who tried to harrow and float the main track. The decision to cancel was made soon thereafter.
Rain checks for admission, parking and programs were granted to fans in attendance. Aqueduct remained open for simulcasting of races from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. and Calder Race Course in Miami, Fla.
