(from Golden Gate Fields report)
Apprentice Katie Repp suffered a concussion and possible rib fractures when she went down in Wednesday's fifth race at Golden Gate Fields.

Repp's mount, Wild Irish Dream, fell after clipping heels with Pia's Courage near the sixteenth pole. Sexy Splasher, with Pedro Mercado aboard, then fell over Wild Irish Dream.

Repp was taken to Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley for X-rays while Mercado was uninjured. Both horses came out of the accident with no major injuries.

Pia's Courage, who finished fifth under jockey A. L. Gutierrez, was disqualified and placed last for causing interference.

DURAN UPDATE: Jockey Francisco Duran, who went down in a spill Nov. 20 at Golden Gate Fields, sustained a small puncture of his left lung, two fractured ribs and a dislocated left collarbone. Golden Gate Fields track physician Dr. David Seftel said the injuries would sideline Duran for three to four weeks.
