Bienamado, a three-time California grade I turf winner, has been acquired by Eoin Banville for stallion duty at Arctic Tack Stud in County Wexford in Ireland, according to the
Racing Post. He formerly stood at Steve Sahadi's Cardiff Stud Farms in California.
Bienamado, who was a group winner in France, was one of the top U.S. grass runners in 2000-01. He excelled at 1 1/4 miles and beyond, scoring in such grade I contests as the Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes, Charles Whittingham Handicap, and San Juan Capistrano Invitational Handicap.
Bienamado, an 8-year-old son of Bien Bien out of the Vitiges mare Nakterjal, earned $1,261,089 in his career. His second dam is a half-sister to Nureyev and to the dam of Sadler's Wells. His first foals are yearlings.
