Dixieland Heat to Elite Thoroughbreds in Louisiana

Dixieland Heat, sire of champion Xtra Heat, has been relocated to Michele Rodriguez and Lee Daniel Thomas' Elite Thoroughbreds near Folsom, La.
One of six stakes winner for Dixieland Heat, Xtra Heat was champion 3-year-old filly of 2001. She won 25 stakes and earned $2,389,635.
A graded stakes winner, Dixieland Heat also sired seven-time stakes winner Coastalota and Canadian graded stakes winner Heat It Up. For his career, Dixieland Heat has sired the earners of $5.7 million.
Dixieland Heat, a 14-year-old son of
Dixieland Band out of the Damascus mare Evening Silk, won four stakes at Fair Grounds, including the Louisiana Derby (gr. III). He formerly stood at Pope McLean's Crestwood Farm near Lexington. His 2005 fee is $2,500 live foal.
