Keeneland November Sale Comes to End

The 2004 Keeneland November mixed sale came to a close Friday with a mare in foal to A Fleets Dancer bringing a session-high price of $41,000. Mist On the Hill was purchased by Classic Bloodstock from the consignment of Windfields Farm, agent.
The final session of 12-day sale saw 188 hips sell for a gross of $1,300,400. The average was $6,917 and median $4,200. Last year the closing session saw 191 head gross $1,262,600. The average was $6,610 and median $3,500.
The total sale grossed $279,680,200, with 2,873 hips averaging $97,348. The median was $32,000. A total of 863 horses failed to meet their reserves, while 724 hips were listed as outs.
Last year the sale grossed $236,070,900 from 2,614 hips averaging $90,310. The median was $32,000. There were 723 horses failing to meet their reserve price while 664 horses were scratched from the sale.
An 8-year-old mare, Mist on the Hill (by Mt. Livermore), who has a yearling colt by
Smart Strike and a weanling filly by A Fleets Dance, was produced from the Exclusive Native mare Inscrutable Lady and is a half-sister to French group-placed Enigmatic and from the family of stakes winners Ripon, Ballygorgan, and Absentia.
The top-priced weanling of the session was a $37,000
Yonaguska filly produced from the Risen Star mare Vivid Impression. Cobalt Investments purchased the filly from the consignment of Patricia Clark, agent. The filly is a half-sister to stakes-placed Fuzzy Star (by
Langfuhr ) and from the family of French group II winner Magistros.
