The CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Association of America is currently offering a collection of rare black and white photographs of Seabiscuit on eBay, with the proceeds going to the charitable organization.
The photos, taken by K.D. Reynolds, were developed from original vintage negatives by John Bosko and are not available anywhere else.
CFIDS has become known to the racing world in recent years through Seabiscuit's biographer, Laura Hillenbrand, who has been suffering from the debilitating disease for many years. All the photos for sale are signed by Hillenbrand. They had been given to her by Bosko, who asked her to donate them to the charity of her choice.
Since 1987, the CFIDS Association of America has invested over $15.2 million in programs aimed at focusing mainstream attention on the disease.
Hillenbrand's book, "Seabiscuit: An American Legend" reached No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list and held the top spot for many weeks, eventually spawning a hit movie released last year.
