Specialty Insurance to Team With Kirk Horse Insurance

Specialty Insurance has agreed to be the newest partner with Kirk Horse Insurance in the writing of equine policies.

The insurer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Swiss Reinsurance America, a member of the world's second largest reinsurer, Swiss Reinsurance Group, replaces Chubb Insurance Group.

Earlier this year, Chubb made the decision to discontinue writing horse insurarnce once its current policies lapse.

Ron Kirk, president of Kirk Horse Insurance in Lexington, said the policy coverages and premium rates to be offered by North American Specialty will be "very similar" to those previously offered by Chubb.

North American Specialty is rated A+ by the A.M. Best insurance rating service.
