Louisiana Super Derby (gr. II) winner Fantasticat breezed four furlongs Wednesday at Churchill Downs in preparation for a possible run in the $500,000-added Clark Handicap (gr. II) Nov. 26.

The 3-year-old son of Storm Cat covered the half-mile in :49.20 in his first serious move for trainer Bobby Barnett since finishing ninth in the Breeders' Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I). The trainer said he was pleased with the work, but said a final decision on Fantasticat's status for the 1 1/8-mile Clark would not be made for a few more days.

"We'll see how he does when he goes back to the track in a couple of days," Barnett said in a release from Churchill Downs. "He popped a quarter (crack) on him in the race at Lone Star. We patched it and it looks good, but we just want to see how it looks in the next couple of days."

The 1 1/2-mile Super Derby win over a "muddy" track at Louisiana was easily the biggest in the career of Fantasticat, who has a record of 3-4-2 in a dozen starts. He has earned $423,584.
