Financingavailable capped off a five-win day for Todd Kabel when the she captured Sunday's $160,350 Jammed Lovely Stakes for Canadian-bred 3-year-old fillies at Woodbine.
Under Kabel, who picked up his meet-leading 34th stakes win, the Ontario-bred has now won three consecutive races. She was much the best in the main track tilt, winning by 7 3/4 lengths. The time of the race was 1:23.12.
It was the second consecutive romp for the daughter of Kiridashi, who took her first added-money event after finishing second in both the Ontario Damsel and La Prevoyante Stakes this year. Last time out, on Oct. 20, Financingavailable won by 6 3/4-lengths, also at seven furlongs. She has four victories in all from 10 career starts.
"Once we had her for a little while, I started to feel pretty good about her," said winning conditioner Lorne Richards, of the K.K. Sangara-owned gray. "You never expect this, to tell you the truth."
Kabel and his mount controlled the pace early on, leading the six-horse field through fractions of :22.67 and :45.26. Just before the final turn, however, Financingavailable began to draw off on her rivals.
Earlier in the card, Kabel, who is two added-money triumphs away from tying the single-season record of 36 set by the late Avelino Gomez in 1966, guided Kendi Lou ($10.00), My Lucky Strike ($7.50), Jet Wash ($3.80) and Give Faith ($11.60) to victory.
Financingavailable, who raised her career earnings to $294,151, returned $2.60, $2.10, $2.10, combining with Flashy Anna ($2.50, $2.10) for a $6.30 exacta. Hong Kong Dancer ($2.50) completed the $13.40 trifecta.
