With Carlos Olivero riding, Final Prophecy, a Florida-bred son of World Stage, pulled off the major upset by a head in a thrilling finish, coming back to defeat Gin and Sin after that one made a big move in the final sixteenth of a mile for Eddie Castro.

"Jane (Cibelli, trainer) did a great job with him all summer (at Monmouth Park) and won a stakes with him at Suffolk," Brownlee said. "They ran out of turf stakes for him up there, so they sent him to me – just for three races – and then he'll go back to Jane this winter at Tampa Bay."

Olivero said Final Prophecy tried to run off from the field early.

"I had to make a decision to take him back or ride him up on the pace close," he said. "So I decided to go. I knew there would be competition. I could feel (Gin and Sin) was getting to me in the last 50 yards."

Final Prophecy covered the 1 1/8-mile distance in 1:47 1/5 on firm turf and paid a whopping $116.40 to win. Gin and Sin, at 7-to-1, completed a $1,271.60 exacta. Grafton finished third.
