City Zip Relocates to Lane's End
City Zip, a half-brother to Breeders' Cup Classic – Powered by Doge (gr. I) winner Ghostzapper, is being moved for the 2005 breeding season to Will Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky.The 6-year-old horse has stood at Contemporary Stallions in New York since retiring to stud for the 2002 breeding season. His fee all three years in New York was $7,500. His stud fee will double for 2005 to $15,000.This year, City Zip, by Carson City -- Baby Zip, by Relaunch, has had 20 yearlings sold from his first crop for an average of $43,425. He was bred to 121 mares his first season, 101 in 2003, and 83 this year.City Zip was a grade I winner at two and grade II winner at three, taking eight added-money events in all while earning $818,225. The sprinter won four graded stakes at two, the Hopeful (gr. I), Saratoga Special (gr. II), Sanford (gr. II), and Tremont (gr. III). At three, his graded scores were in the Amsterdam (gr. II) and Jersey Shore Breeders' Cup (gr. III).
