Grade II winner Seattle Fitz, who was retired last month with an ankle injury, will stand in 2005 at Doug Arnold's Buck Pond Farm near Versailles, Ky.

The 5-year-old horse, by Fitzcarraldo -- Hug a Slew, by Seattle Slew, arrived at Buck Pond today. His stud fee has not been determined.

Bred in Argentina by Firmamento, Seattle Fitz was purchased in Dubai by Terry Finley's West Point Thoroughbreds as an unraced 3-year-old at the Emirates Racing Association's 2002 auction for $136,120. He raced in Dubai before arriving in the U.S. in the spring of 2003.

His big win came in the Brooklyn Handicap (gr. II) and he also won this year's Aqueduct (gr. III) and William Donald Schaefer (gr. III) Handicaps. He was second to Medaglia d'Oro in the Donn Handicap (gr. I) at Gulfstream Park in February and was twice graded stakes-placed last year.

Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, he retired with earnings of $594,371.
