Edited release from the NJSEA

Monmouth Park and Meadowlands will offer 120 days of Thoroughbred racing in 2005 under a schedule approved Nov. 4 by the New Jersey Racing Commission.

Monmouth is scheduled to hold 90 days of racing from May 14-Sept. 25. Meadowlands will follow with a 30-day Thoroughbred meet from Sept. 30-Nov. 12.

Meadowlands also will offer 161 Standardbred dates over two meets (Jan. 7-Aug. 6, and Nov. 18-Dec. 31). Combined, the two tracks operated by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority will offer 281 live racing programs.

Atlantic City Race Course was awarded four dates in late April and early May. Two will be all-turf Thoroughbred dates, and the other two steeplechase programs.
