Speightstown's Fee Set at $40,000

Speightstown, winner of the Oct. 30 Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I), will stand in 2005 for $40,000.
It had earlier been announced Speightstown would stand at WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky. WinStar and Taylor Made Farm purchased half of Speightstown from owners Eugene and Laura Melnyk.
Bred in Kentucky by Aaron and Marie Jones, Speightstown was sold for them by Taylor Made at the 1999 Keeneland July yearling sale. He was purchased by Melnyk for $2 million. Speightstown, by Gone West
, was produced from the Storm Cat
mare Silken Cat, who was the Canadian champion juvenile filly in 1995.
Speightstown has won 10 of 16 lifetime starts.
