Millionaire and world-record setter Atticus has been purchased by Suarez Racing and will stand the 2005 season at Magali Farms near Santa Ynez, Calif. His fee is $4,000 live foal.Atticus, who set a mile record of 1:31.89 in the Arcadia Handicap (gr. IIT) at Santa Anita, has sired three stakes winners, including 2004 added-money winner Petite Speciale, and five stakes-placed runners. His progeny earnings total is $3.4 million.Atticus, a 12-year-old son of Nureyev out of the Secretariat mare Athyka, won seven of 18 races, including the Oaklawn Handicap (gr. I), and earned $1,205,933. He formerly stood for a syndicate at Robert N. Clay's Three Chimneys Farm near Midway, Ky.
