Bold Truth, who was grade II stakes-placed at Saratoga, has arrived at Douglas Arnold's Buck Pond Farm near Versailles, Ky., where he will stand for $5,000 live foal.
A 5-year-old son of Seattle Slew, Bold Truth put in two of his best performances at Saratoga. He ran third in the Amsterdam Stakes (gr. II) and finished third to Ghostzapper and Clock Stopper in an allowance race when the former clocked 1:21.74 for seven furlongs. Bold Truth, who won or placed in eight of 15 races, retired with earnings of $112,205 for breeder/owner John C. Oxley.
Bold Truth is out of the Forty Niner mare Forty Nine Hearts, who is a full sister to Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Editor's Note and a half-sister to three stakes winners, including French group I winner Hold That Tiger. Bold Truth's second dam, Beware of the Cat, is a half-sister to the dam of successful sire Hennessy.
