Canadian Frontier, a graded stakes-winning sprinter this year, has been retired from racing and will enter stud at Brereton C. Jones' Airdrie Stud near Midway, Ky. The 5-year-old son of Gone West will stand for $10,000.

"I could not be more excited about having another brilliantly fast son of Gone West," said Jones, who also stands Proud Citizen (by Gone West). "Add to his brilliance the fact that his multiple graded dam is by Seattle Slew and that his first three dams are all graded/group stakes winners and I believe his chance for sire success is exceptionally strong."

A $325,000 Keeneland September yearling, Canadian Frontier enjoyed his best season this year, winning five of eight races. He won the Bold Ruler Handicap (gr. III) in 1:08.97 at Belmont Park and the Longfellow Stakes in 1:08.98 at Monmouth Park, registering 107 Beyer Speed Figures in both those six-furlong races. He also recorded a 104 Beyer in winning the Teddy Drone Stakes at Monmouth at six furlongs.

Canadian Frontier, who concluded his racing career for Mrs. E. Paul Robsham, retired with six wins from 13 starts and earnings of $253,239. In his sole start outside the U.S., he finished third in Dubai while racing for Godolphin Racing.

Bred by Marshall Naify Revocable Trust, Canadian Frontier is out of multiple grade II winner Borodislew (by Seattle Slew). His second dam, Breath Taking (by Nureyev), is a two-time French group winner.
