Moth Ball, like Ticker Tape sold from trainer Jamie Osborne's stable, was originally bought back when making 210,000 guineas with agent Gordian Troeller the underbidder.
But Troeller, acting for California trainer Jim Cassidy and Ticker Tape's owners, later purchased the colt privately for 205,000 guineas.

During the session, 204 yearlings sold for 4,408,600 guineas, an average of 21,610 and a median of 11,500. Another 49 were listed as not sold. Last year, 156 were sold for 2,325,200 guineas, an average of 14,905 and a median of 10,000. There were 32 bought back.
