Graded stakes winner Summer Mis, a stakes winner in three of her four years of racing, has been retired and will be bred to Empire Maker. The 5-year-old daughter of Summer Squall won 11 of 23 starts and earned $542,662 racing as a homebred for Richard Otto Stables.

Summer Mis, who was Illinois Horse of the Year and champion older mare in 2003, won six stakes, including last year's Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (gr. III) at Keeneland. She is a half-sister to stakes winner Julie's Prize and is out of the Miswaki mare Julie Mis.
