Senor Swinger Tries Canadian International

(from Woodbine report))
Senor Swinger flies into Sunday's $1.5-million Pattison Canadian International (Can-I) at Woodbine off an impressive victory in the Belmont Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIT), a four-length score on Sept. 18.

"It looks like it's going to be a pretty tough race," said Baffert. "Hopefully, he can come home with a great kick and put together another strong effort. Turf racing is the sport of excuses, but hopefully we get an ideal trip and get the job done."

Senor Swinger, a 4-year-old son of El Prado who has banked $795,068 with a record of 21-8-0-3, also won the Arlington Handicap (gr. IIIT) and Opening Verse Handicap earlier this year, as well as last year's Jefferson Cup Stakes (gr. IIIT) and Crown Royal American Turf Stakes (gr. IIIT) last year.

The Robert & Beverly Lewis-owned colt will be partnered with Edgar Prado, who will get a 'leg up' on Senor Swinger for the fourth time.

After Prado teamed with the lifetime earner of $795,068 in back-to-back starts in 2003, he was reunited with the career winner of eight races from 21 starts in the Belmont Breeders' Cup.

Last year, Prado finished ninth in the International with Art Variety.

Probable for the International: Brian Boru, Burst of Fire, Colorful Judgement, Ecomium, King's Drama, Lenny The Lender, Mubtaker, Sabiango, Senor Swinger, Simonas, Strut The Stage, Sulamani.
