During, a three-time grade II winner, will stand at the Hancock family's Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky., following the planned conclusion of his racing career at the end of the year. The 4-year-old son of Cherokee Run has career earnings of $809,030.

"He's a total outcross for Mr. Prospector and Northern Dancer; he's a very attractive horse, and has a world of talent," said farm spokesman Bernie Sams.

During's big win came in last year's Swaps Stakes (gr. II) over Ten Most Wanted at Hollywood Park. Two races later, he ran a solid fourth in the King's Bishop Stakes (gr. I), beaten 2 1/4 lengths, at Saratoga, then scored back-to-back wins in the Jerome (gr. II) and Discovery (gr. III) Handicaps in New York.

During opened his 4-year-old season with a victory in the San Fernando Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita. He then missed winning the Strub Stakes (gr. II) by a neck and later placed in the San Diego (gr. II) and Del Mar Breeders' Cup (gr. II) Handicaps.

Bred by Gulf States Racing Stables, During has captured six of 20 starts and will continue to race for James McIngvale. He will stand as the property of a syndicate at a fee that will be determined later. His dam, stakes-placed Blading Saddle, is by Blade.
