Alberto VO5 will be the title sponsor of this year's Filly & Mare Turf (gr. I) officials announced Tuesday.
The race is one of the eight Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships events to be run at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas Oct. 30.
Part of Alberto Culver line of products, the company is owned by Leonard Lavin, a Thoroughbred owner and breeder who owns Glen Hill Farm near Ocala, Fla.
"We are delighted that Alberto-Culver, the longest standing Breeders' Cup sponsoring partner, has secured the title sponsorship of this year's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf," said D.G. Van Clief, Jr. president of Breeders' Cup Ltd., and Commissioner of the NTRA.
Alberto-Culver first sponsored the Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) in 1989, and has sponsored other Breeders' Cup races over the years, most recently the Filly & Mare Turf in 2000.
